Pelargonium Pelargonium spp. Geraniaceae
There are several species of this perennial plant that is native to South Africa, including Pelargonium zonale , Pelargonium graveolens and Pelargonium peltatum . It has a succulent stem that becomes woody over time and has velvety leaves with a brown circular patch. The flowers are highly aromatic and can have different colours, such as red, pink, orange and purple. Its essential oil contains citronellol, nerol and geraniol.
