Orange Tree Citrus × sinensis Rutaceae

This small to medium-sized tree species with evergreen leaves is native to Southeast Asia and provides one of the most widely produced fruits, the sweet orange. It is a hybrid tree that results from a cross between the tangerine tree ( Citrus reticulata ) and the pomelo tree ( Citrus maxima ). Its leaves and flowers are very aromatic and the branches usually have thorns in the leaf axils.
