Lemon Tree Citrus limon Rutaceae

A small evergreen tree species that is native to Asia. It has a light brown trunk, thorny branches and aromatic leaves and flowers. It produces lemons, ovoid to rounded fruits, which are green before ripening and yellow when ripe, with a characteristic acidic taste, due to the high concentration of citric acid. Lemons are also rich in vitamin C and their juice is used in soft drinks, ice creams, sauces and also in cleaning products.
