Quince Tree Cydonia oblonga Rosaceae

This species of shrub or small deciduous tree is native to Central and Southwest Asia. Its fruits, called quinces, are fleshy, globose or pear-shaped, velvety, yellow and with a sweet aroma when ripe. They can be eaten raw, boiled or baked and used to produce marmalade, jelly, jam and liqueur.
