Common Rue Ruta graveolens Rutaceae

The other names of this perennial shrub, that is native to Europe, are rue, strong smelling rue or herb-of-grace. It can grow up to 1 m in height. Its leaves have an intense aroma and have analgesic and antiseptic properties. In excessive amounts they can be toxic, causing skin irritation. Touching its wet leaves should be avoided.
